importance of post of Air Raids Precautions Officer in Hong Kong

Air Raids Precautions Department are prepared to release Wing

Commander Steele Perkins. If some improvement in emoluments can be

offered he has agreed to accep; and to sail by last P. & 0.

in January. In view of his special suitability and experience

and after personal discussion of his circumstances, I recommend

that salary offered for 3 year engagement be increased to £1,000

per annum, and that he should be given gratuity at suitable rate

on final conclusion of service if re-engaged for subsequent

period.
